What Happened To The Garden House?

After more than a decade on the Net The Garden House closed its doors Feb 15th, 2009.

My good-bye letter to our members:

For many years The Garden House message board was the first place I stopped by every morning. It was wonderful to share with you my news, good and bad, and to partake in your lives. I enjoyed hearing about your triumphs, setbacks, small pebbles, and boulders. We bonded on the board, in committees, and even in person. I think we all grew in the House that Love Built!
I enjoyed, along with other GKs, fixing up our pages, and keeping up the mb, and also leading some committees! My fondest memories are rooted in the mail committee, our holiday exchanges and secret pals as well. We had the best of times!

The time has come to say Good Bye! While you’re not out of my life, you won’t be in my life in The Garden House. And that’s OK… it served its purpose wonderfully while all the GKs had the time and energy to run it. Simply put, the time has come to delve into other things. I won’t forget you!
Friendships are never lost, ‘though, even if contacts break off. It’s something that will stay with you. It made you a better person, and you will keep giving that gift to others, scatter those seeds of kindness. That is the best gift we can leave you with, and please distribute it freely!

There are some places on the Internet where we may continue to meet:
I will keep a “The Garden House” presence on myspace.com. It will be a meeting place for all former members over the last decade. Think myspace.com as a sophisticated message board that you can personalize.

Several of us are also “facebook” members. “Facebook” works a bit differently from “myspace”, perhaps its a bit more user friendly. Facebook is for individuals, you can find me under my real name. I started a group there, “The Garden House”. You can join "facebook" groups once you're a "facebook" member.
At this time there are between 10 and 20 former GH members on facebook. I think our group of former members will grow as word spreads. Facebook is emerging as the best place to keep in touch. We have a message board there, along with the many other features facebook offers.

You may get free accounts at those places by registering. Just click on the links below

If you have any questions and need to e-mail me, go HERE

If you wish to keep your logos, that’s fine. Be sure to take the links off, or re-link them to http://www.myspace.com/thegardenhouse, if you like. You should take the GH rings off your pages, because the ring fragments are no longer working.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all those years of friendship!
The Garden House will always be part of me.
Best wishes to all my Garden Sisters!

Love always,
Renate
