WITCHES BREW
**1 Bottle red wine
(Cabernet or Burgundy)
**1 Bottle port wine
**1 c Brandy or Cognac
** 1 Orange, thinly sliced
**1/2 c Yellow raisins
**10 Dried apricots, chopped
**1/2 c Water
**3 tb Sugar, or to taste
**2 ts Whole cloves
**2 Sticks cinnamon
Serves 10 adult witches
or 5 adult witches and 5 adult warlocks
Combine all the ingredients in a cauldron. Simmer mixture for 10
minutes. Keep your cauldron moderate: DO NOT ALLOW TO BOIL!! Ladle into glasses, with a few apricots
and raisins in each.
Terrific on Halloween... or on a cool autumn or winter's night while sitting in front of the
fireplace with your favorite skeleton or a round of ghouls. In some other land we call it Gluehwein.... but it's not quite the same.

6 x Cloves, whole
6 x Cinnamon sticks
4 x Cardamom, whole, shelled
4 c Cranberry juice cocktail
(32 oz bottle)
1 c Light raisins
1/4 c Sugar
2 c Port
Tie spices in cheesecloth bag or gauze and place in sauce pan. Add 2
cups of the cranberry juice cocktail, the raisins, and the sugar,
bring to a boil. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Remove spices.
Before serving add remaining cranberry juice and the wine, heat to
almost boiling. (DO NOT BOIL!) Pour into heat proof pitcher, serve in
mugs or punch cups, adding a few raisins to each. Yield: 6 servings

HOT CRANBERRY CIDER
4 c Cranberry juice cocktail
(32 oz. bottle)
4 c Apple cider
1 cn Apricot nectar (12 oz)
3 x Cinnamon sticks
1/2 ts Nutmeg, grd.
1 c Rum
4 tb Butter or margarine
In sauce pan combine cranberry juice, cider, nectar, cinnamon, and
nutmeg. Bring to boil, simmer 10 minutes.
Remove from heat, add rum and butter, stirring until butter melts.
Yield: 10 servings
Great for Halloween and Thanksgiving!

BASIC CRANBERRY PUNCH
*******BASE:*******
4 c Cranberry apple drink
(one 32 oz bottle), chilled
1/4 c Lemon juice
1/4 c Grenadine syrup
*For non alcohol add*:
28 oz Bottle ginger ale, chilled
1 qt Raspberry sherbet
**For alcoholic punch add:**
1 c Vodka
***For wine punch add***
Fifth bottle rose‚ wine, cold
* For non alcoholic punch pour cranberry base over ice in punch bowl.
Slowly add the ginger ale, and float scoops of sherbet on top. 9 cups
** For alcoholic punch add the vodka to base. 5 1/2 cups.
*** For wine punch add the fifth of chilled rose‚ to the base.
Yield: 8 servings
