Activities for my annual Halloween Party for kids include
Bobbing for Apples Wash apples and then put them into a tin or plastic tub with Halloween motifs on it . Let the kids get the apples out with their teeth, hands behind their backs.
Carameling Apples I use the ready to microwave caramel. Choose small green apples and let the kids go at 'em!
Halloween Hunt in the backyard- like an Easter egg hunt- I use plastic pumpkins, put candy inside, or a slip of paper with an item name on it for stuff that doesn't fit.
Pin the Nose on the Pumkin, like the old stand-by "Pin the nose on the donkey". Create a large cardboard pumpkin with as many stick-on noses as there are children, offer prizes for those who pin closest.
Halloween March or Dance in your living room- to music like "Monster Mash" and "Ghostbusters".
Intersperse active time with quiet times... offer snacks and stories or a short movie during quiet times. The food is usually Pizza, the snacks are Halloween appropriate fare.
I always make a list of activities in my computer and post it.. so kids know what comes next. As they grow up, I'll adapt the activities.
New Games I will try this year:
WITCHES BROOMSTICK GAME
This is a musical game, it goes like this: (You may know it as "cake walk")
Place children in a circle. Pass the witches' broom stick around the circle while the music's playing, have them quickly pass the broom, anyone is out who lets the broomstick drop, or the one who has it when the music stops! Play elimination until only one person is left.
