CALIFORNIA HIKER Tuolumne Grove Yosemite The Tuolumne Grove is located off California HWY 120 in the High Sierras of Yosemite National Park. We hiked on July 1, and there were some surprises in store for us... for one, it rained, thundered, and there was lightening. On the return trip there was hail, lots of it. By the time we returned to the car we were soaked to the skin! It was still a terrific hike, a moderate 2 mile hike round trip. There's a bit of climbing involved, (500 feet elevation gain/loss).
