CALIFORNIA HIKER Zumwalt Meadow. Photo by California Hiker. King's Canyon: Zumwalt Meadow Zumwalt Meadows is located in Kings Canyon National Park. Kings CYN lies just South of its famous cousin Yosemite, though the 2 have no connecting road. From HWY 99, take 180 East, which leads you right into the National Park. Call ahead for road condtions. The park is situated in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and boasts peaks over 14,000 feet tall.... so there is snow in winter. The road to Zumwalt is usually open by Mid May.
