Castle Hanstein

Castle Hanstein is within 45 minutes drive of my home town. It's located in Thuringia, part of the former East Germany. I had visited its "sister" Castle Ludwigstein in West Germany many years ago. The 2 castles are in fairly close proximity to each other. Hanstein's history dates back to the 7th or 8th century. You can read a bit more about the castle at its website, alas... in German! It's sister castle, Ludwigstein has some English pages.
However, for our tour of the castle we won't need a language... just click on "next" and that's all you need to know! :)
