

California Hiker Steam Train Ride to Mt Brocken, Harz Mountains

Mount Brocken in the Harz Mountains of Germany is one of the coldest mountains in Germany. With 300 fog days a year, the view from the top is absent most of the time.
This mountain has captured the imaginations of many people. The most famous German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe eternalized Mt Brocken and its witches in "Walpurgisnacht" (Faust).
During Walpurgisnacht (Beltane, April 30th), the witches fly to the mountain to sweep off the snow.
The Harz region is beautiful. The train ride is nostalgic. Look at the photos of our train ride to Mt Brocken!
